15–60 second commercials for fictional products, services, or brands.

03 / How to Apply

WFAIA aims for a world where the passion and effort of every individual creator are fairly and appropriately evaluated. What we evaluate in the judging process is not accidental output generated by AI, but the "will and deliberate work of the creator" that lies beyond it. It is not about which tool you used, but what you chose, how you refined it, and what you communicated. We will justly evaluate the process poured into the artwork, including the submitted workflows.

You can easily upload your artwork, created using any AI tool, through the official website. You can also submit entries to multiple categories.

Colin Brady
Pixar, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) Film Director

Colin Brady is an animator and film director who has worked with Pixar and Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) as a lead animator, animation director, and supervising animator. His credits include Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug’s Life, Men in Black II, Hulk, and Hugo. As a judge, he will evaluate submissions based on storytelling, character expression, creative use of AI, and production quality.

Ken Nakada
Amazon MGM Studios Principal, Creative Executive

Ken Nakada is a senior creative-innovation executive who has spent over 25 years pioneering VFX, virtual production, and generative AI workflows for the world's leading studios. As Principal Creative Executive in Amazon MGM Studios' "AI Studios" initiative, he has led the production of live-action AI hybrid projects and AI-native short films. He has also worked on numerous major titles at renowned studios such as Pixomondo, Rhythm and Hues, and ILM (Notable credits include: X-Men: Days of Future Past, Life of Pi, Avatar, and The Matrix Revolutions).

Matt Shih
Think Diffusion / Floyo CDO

Matt Shih is the Co-founder and CDO of Think Diffusion / Floyo. Drawing on his background in advertising, design, and creative technology, he helps lead the development of AI-powered creative platforms for professional creators. As a judge, he will evaluate submissions based on creativity, execution quality, expressive impact, and practical use of AI.

Matty Shimura
Eleven Labs - Creator Competitions

With over 18 years of experience as a filmmaker and executive producer, Matty brings a unique perspective spanning traditional entertainment, emerging technology, and AI-powered creativity. At ElevenLabs, he leads the Chroma Awards and Project Odyssey, giving him extensive experience discovering and supporting creators working at the forefront of AI film and storytelling.

Darren Kiner

A specialist with over 30 years of experience in VFX and CGI, having worked on numerous films such as *Aladdin*, *Fantasia 2000*, and *Black Swan*. Currently, he serves as a CGI Lighting Director at Nickelodeon while also developing original projects.

10 / General Regulations

General Regulations

  • The same artwork cannot be submitted to multiple categories. Please submit one artwork per category (you may enter multiple different artworks across different categories).
  • The duration is counted as the total running time, including the main feature and credits.
  • File Format: MP4 recommended.
  • You must incorporate the use of Floyo during the creation process and submit at least one Floyo workflow upon entry.
  • English subtitles are strictly mandatory for all submissions (subtitles can be omitted only if the original audio/text is in English).
  • Works that infringe upon the copyrights, portrait rights, or trademarks of third parties are ineligible. By submitting, it is deemed that all necessary rights clearances have been completed for all materials—including music, images, and AI-generated assets—and that relevant laws and platform terms of service are fully observed.
  • The management reserves the right to reassign categories for submitted works and to decline submissions that do not meet technical, legal, or ethical standards.

FAQ

Yes, it is possible. You can submit as many entries as you like across multiple different categories. However, you cannot submit the exact same artwork to multiple categories. Please choose one category per artwork.
Please choose based on the core focus of your work. If the visual style or narrative world-building is the main axis, the AI Animation category is suitable; if children's learning and growth form the center of the theme, the Kids Education category is appropriate. Rest assured, even if you are unsure, the management may reassign it to a more suitable category at their discretion.
You must use Floyo during the creation process of your artwork (you will be required to submit at least one Floyo workflow upon entry). Co-use with other AI tools or hybrid production with live-action is also permitted. We are currently issuing coupon codes that grant a certain amount of free generation time to those who register their intent to participate.
You may only use original tracks or music that has been properly cleared for rights. Artworks that include unauthorized use of existing commercial music will be disqualified.
The Advertisement category is strictly limited to fictional brands. For all categories, if you handle real companies, products, or individuals, it is a strict requirement that the applicant possesses the necessary rights and official permissions.
Yes, you can. Any AI-powered work created in 2024 or later is fully eligible for submission.
It is counted as the total running time, including the main feature and credits. Please submit your work within the specified duration range of each category.
Yes. Submissions are welcome in Japanese, English, or any other language. However, English subtitles are strictly mandatory for all works (except when the original language is English).
Yes, it is possible. You can participate as an individual or as a team (no limit on the number of team members). If applying as a team, please register using the name of the team representative.
Basic applications are free. Please check the application guidelines for detailed terms and conditions.
The basic eligibility criteria are identical across all categories (applicants must be 18 or older). The content of the work must be suitable and safe for all ages to view. Works containing violent, sexual, or harmful expressions are strictly excluded from evaluation.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held both online and in person. In addition to the nominees, winners, and related parties, the general public will also have the opportunity to attend via a lottery. Further details will be announced at a later date.
